The Bill Gove Golden Gavel Toastmaster Club helps you become a better speaker and more effective leader!
Since chartering on January 7, 2000, the Bill Gove Golden Gavel Toastmasters Club has helped hundreds of members become better speakers and leaders.
For many, this training has dramatically changed their lives and advanced their careers.
Our History
Professional speaker Steve Siebold and sales trainer Ed Lamont founded the club and received approval to name the chapter after Bill Gove,
Toastmaster International's 1991 Golden Gavel Award winner. Forty-one speaking professionals, entrepreneurs, and educators were invited to
join; forty accepted immediately. The club was an instant success. Since then members have met every non-holiday Friday from noon to 1 p.m.
in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Before Bill Gove (1912-2001), internationally known as the "Father of Professional Speaking", was a charter and active Bill Gove Golden Gavel
Toastmaster Club member, he was elected National Speakers Association's (NSA) first President and earned NSA's Certified Speaking Professional
(CSP) designation. Bill achieved the Council of Peers Award for Excellence (CPAE) and was inducted into NSA's Speaker Hall of Fame inaugural
class of 1977.
Our club consistently achieves Toastmaster International's highest honor - PRESIDENT'S DISTINGUISHED CLUB - year after year. As of 2020,
we've attained President's Distinguished Club status 18 of 20 years, including the last 14 years in a row. Club officers and members continue
to set high standards for themselves and the club as we enter into our third decade of communications and leadership excellence.
Our members advance their communication and leadership skills beyond the club level. We regularly place high in Toastmaster speaking contests.
Many members have shared their knowledge and influence within the Toastmaster organization by being serving in Area, Division, District, and
even International leaders. Among Toastmaster District 47 clubs, the Bill Gove Golden Gavel Toastmaster Club pioneered video recording member
speeches and evaluations, and created an award-winning website.
Today, the club welcomes new members of all public speaking skill levels. It continues to prosper as members grow in a friendly, informal, and
fun learning environment.
